In The End

LEADERS DON’T CREATE FOLLOWERS

They create more leaders. As you very well know (and likely forgot more about than most will ever learn), excellence is in the execution of processes. Your plastics procurement process is the most crucial aspect of the business.

With my finger on the pulse of your plastic procurement requirements, I will provide you with dedicated leadership and expertise, free of any cozy supplier relationships – many of which have a concerning element of collusion –  less the inexperienced, unproductive, and disruptive non-value hours buyers are bogged down with administratively. It’s the nature of the plastics “purchasing” beast and where the molding companies suffer the most.

Stakeholders bring me on board for many reasons, including current and future operational reasons or the sale of the company. Regardless of your chosen path or reason, plastics procurement is only effective with solid leadership and the discipline and expertise to carry it out.

TOMORROW IS TOO LATE – AS IT ALWAYS IS

The currency of time is our most precious commodity. It is elusive, stands still for nobody, and you can never regain it after “spending” it. Like most I deal with, they understand this concept better than anybody because they are the wisest barters of it.

You may not have the time to do everything. But there’s always enough time to do the most important thing. Today, it’s the plastics procurement strategy of your injection molding company. To ensure control, maintain that control and guarantee you have the advantage over the sellers and your competitors indefinitely.

WHERE TO BEGIN

The Comprehensive Thermoplastic Review is my flagship utility where stakeholders begin. It is the starting point for injection molders who need and want a holistic, objective, candid assessment of their firm’s raw material purchases – pricing and supplier evaluations. The Comprehensive Thermoplastic Review is provided as a professional courtesy free of any upfront cost or obligation.

It unfolds in five phases:

  1. The introduction. You may contact me by phone (313-488-2514) or complete the contact form (preferred). I will arrange a convenient time to discuss your specific raw materials situation and whether this is an excellent fit for your company. Assuming you want to move forward….
  2. Data collection. I will email you a list of materials to gather and a non-disclosure agreement pre-signed to ensure confidentiality regarding your firm. I will, of course, sign yours if you wish.
  3. Spend and Analysis. I will conduct the bulk of the discovery internally. This can typically be covered in 1-2 weeks. During this time, I will prepare an overview of what your company may be overpaying for your raw materials with your current suppliers and evaluate any supply issues. I will also provide a subsection for alternate materials and suppliers if desired.
  4. Moving forward with purpose. Once agreed, I can serve your company; I will prepare an agreement outlining my responsibilities, those I will require of you, and my professional fees for services – which always pale by comparison to measurable results and ongoing accountability.
  5. Implementation and optimization. I will develop procurement strategies for chosen raw materials for your review. You are always in control of the process and the pace. Once the strategies are agreed upon, I will implement them. Supplier engagement varies by phone, live video, and email. All supplier agreements are in writing with stakeholder acknowledgment.

Once implemented, you will see positive change very early in the process. In fact, gathering materials is a learning exercise. Some cost changes happen quickly; others may take 1-4 weeks. The recommendations are realistic, well thought out and supported.
